Do you want to reduce your likelihood of being in the Australian Taxation Office’s (ATO) spotlight?
One way to achieve this is by getting your tax returns in on time.
For self managed superannuation funds (SMSF) in particular, tax returns are a big issue. If a fund fails to lodge a tax return on time it breaches section 35D of the Superannuation Industry Supervision Act and risks losing its preferential tax status.
The beginning of the tax year is the best time to get your information together and to contact your account manager.
Steven J Miller & Co recently distributed our annual Taxation Workbook and Questionnaire to assist individual taxpayers in compiling all of the information required to prepare and lodge that return.
If you have not yet contacted the office, would like to organise a meeting or discuss your situation, please contact your account manager directly or telephone the office on (02) 9560 3777.
