If you are an employer with 20 or more employees and haven’t implemented SuperStream, it’s not too late to get SuperStream ready.
Employers making genuine attempts to get ready are being offered flexibility to become fully SuperStream compliant by 31 October. The ATO has noted that where necessary, they will work with employers having difficulties to help them transition into the new requirements.
Under SuperStream, you only need make one electronic transaction to cover all your employees. This significantly reduces the time it takes to make super contributions.
There are many options available for you to adopt SuperStream, including upgrading your payroll software, using a clearing house service or your default super fund’s portal.
You can also check the ATO’s SuperStream Certified Product Register, which identifies the readiness of payroll software and other service providers to meet SuperStream requirements.
